MBS is in urgent need of an Engineering Tech III in Mason, OH. This position is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.
FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process
- Provide advanced level electrical and/or mechanical support to the manufacturing operation.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues of mechanical devices including bearings, shafts, springs, couplings, gears, clutches, bushings, cams, chains, belts.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues including ac/dc theory, motors, relay logic, wiring, use of multi-meter, various components and associated wiring.
- Assist with machine changeovers, start-ups, adjustments, and repairs as needed to ensure quality of parts and required efficiencies.
- Repair robot motors, bearings, ball screws, harmonic drives and re-origin.
- Perform record-keeping duties to document maintenance schedules, work orders, purchases, and inventories.
- Place purchase orders as necessary to maintain and improve machine condition.
- Track maintenance and repair budgets and facilitate improvement projects to reduce cost.
- Follow all safety processes and procedures, including lock-out/tag-out and PPE.
REQUIREMENTS
- Associates degree, or Trade School degree or certification preferred.
- Minimum of four years of high speed manufacturing environment or equivalent.
- Machine maintenance and diagnostic/troubleshooting experience required.
- Familiarity with safety precautions such as Lock-out/Tag-out, Arc Flash protection, welding, and personal protective equipment.
- Proficient with hand tools and machine shop tools, such as a drill, tap, slide hammer, gear puller, shear, brake, drill press and feeler gauges.
- Proficient in advanced electric theory and basic ac/dc theory, motors, relay logic, wiring, use of multi-meter, various components and associated wiring.
- Understand and troubleshoot ball screws including rigidity and backlash.
- Understand and use of advanced PLC commands, GOT editing and creation.
- Ability to monitor and make minor robot program changes.
- Understand and troubleshoot PLC networking issues.
- Strong troubleshooting of servo issues including tuning using GX Works2, MR Configurator.
- Ability to make advanced PLC programming modifications as required to maintain and or improve processes and troubleshoot servo issues.
- Ability to read detailed assembly drawings and perform repair or assemble devices.
- Knowledge of advanced fluid power devices.
- Understanding of advanced principles of hydraulics and pneumatics, interpreting associated schematics, and theory and repair of cylinders, solenoids, flow/pressure/directional valves.
- Ability to manage several projects at one time.
- Knowledge of cycle time, parts per hour (PPH), and efficiency and how they negatively affect line productivity.
