Kable Staffing is in urgent need of a Logistics in Fairfield, OH. This position is a full-time, temp-hire opportunity, with an opening on 1st and 3rd shift.
Support the shipping and receiving Group Leader to ensure the proper flow, verify accuracy and keep appropriate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Unwrap incoming shipments making sure items received match packing lists
- Ensure that all bills of landing, packing list, and any other required shipping documentation is securely and appropriately attached to all outgoing shipments
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Organize and keep record of all expedite shipments
- Receiving – match with purchase orders and deliver products to appropriate areas
- Order steel/input data on incoming steel coils/blanks
- Place orders for transport parts
- Maintain records of outgoing and incoming coated parts
- Input all components (padding, nuts, etc.)
- Resolve issues of missing parts
- Communicate with EDI on truck shipments
- Responsible for giving purchase orders to the purchasing department
- Communicate with customers and trucking companies to ensure that shipments are picked up on time
- Participate in quality group discussions and activities
- Participate in 5S activities (clean up 10 minutes at the end of each shift)
- Conform to all company and OSHA safety requirements
- Follow all tasks in a quality and detail-oriented manner
- Any other tasks within the scope of the position as requested by management
- Any other activities as directed by management to support the Production Control Department and the PMO
REQUIREMENTS
- 18 years old
- High school diploma/GED
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical functions
- Ability to use a copy/fax machine
- Computer literate-data entry experience
- Valid state driver’s license
- Ability to operate forklift, hand truck and other equipment required in the handling on materials in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Kanban system
- Willingness to cooperate and work in a strong environment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Moderate physical effort is required to move containers
- Ability to walk, stand, and carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist, and climb ladders and equipment
- Ability to operate in repetitive motions
ENVIRONMENAL CONDITIONS
- Inside conditions, may be required to remain outside on docks during cold and rain to load and unload shipments
- Exposed to heat at times during summer months
- Exposed to some processing oils and weld sparks
- Upper noise levels requiring hearing protection in some areas
- Safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and hat are required at all times
- Kevlar sleeves and gloves will be provided to prevent exposure of steel and sparks onto skin
