Kable Staffing is in urgent need of a Transformer Coil Winding Technician. This position is a full-time, Temp to Hire, with openings on 1st Shift. This position is in Cincinnati, OH.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Wind single and multi-conductor disc, single and double helix and layer windings including round and rectangular coils.
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to frequently lift to 50+ lbs.
SAFETY
Must be able to stand and walk as well as 1 or more of the following: grasp, grip, reach, pull, push, bend, twist, squat, kneel, and balance the whole shift - up to 12 hours. Lift cartons above (up to 8 feet overhead) or below shoulder level. Wear steel-toed shoes.
FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work from design sheets, engineering drawings, specifications, and design prints.
Set up winding machines and expandable mandrels.
Braze copper and aluminum leads.
Wind single and multi-conductor disc, single and double helix and layer windings including round and rectangular coils.
Recognize conductor pressure points and how to insulate these areas.
Build winding bridges and risers used in disc windings.
Refer to manufacturing practices, standard practices, winding designs and bill of material to interpret and obtain the winding form size, conductor size, turns, layers, tape, glue, insulation and dimensions to name a few key items.
Adjust and maintain conductor tension to meet coil dimension requirements.
Recognize conductor and winding defects to take corrective action including notifying a supervisor as needed.
Repair coils of any type and size at various stages of manufacture.
Provide assistance in on-the-job orientation and training of other employees as well as help in other work areas on a temporary basis as needed.
Keep tools, equipment, and workplace neat and orderly.
Unload and upend coil and position end assembly as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- 18 years old
- Previous experience in a distribution center environment helpful
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Ability to move or lift to 50+ lbs. frequently
- Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel, and/or stoop on a repetitive basis
- Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Effective communication skills
- Pass background check and drug test
- Wear steel-toed shoes
